For Me?!

1. I won’t eat Brussels sprouts because they smell like feet. And they’re a pretty pretentious vegetable to require capitalization.

2. My first line of defense in dealing with sadness is always anger. I will knock your block off before admitting that my heart hurts.

3. I LOVE change. I love the changing of the seasons, rearranging furniture, coloring/styling my hair differently. I have an upcoming post about this. Stay tuned!

4. I have zero tolerance for anyone with a bad sense of humor. If you can’t laugh at yourself, you suck.

5. When I was younger, I was a gymnast. Back then, I thought I was “fat” because I had muscular legs rather than the stick-thin variety like most girls my age. If I could, I would go back in time and tell my young self to rock those legs because my gymnast body was something to be proud of, not something to hide because it was different.

6. I used to sponsor a high school step team. If you have never seen a step performance, I highly recommend it.

7. On a weekly basis, I wonder how the avocado became so trendy. It’s everywhere, even in my shaving cream. Maybe the avocado could share its experiences with the brussells sprout and explain how the world came to love it, thereby creating a more friendlier existence for the sprout.

8. I love, love, LOVE being pregnant. I want to be a surrogate, but my husband said if it’s not his baby, he won’t rub my cankles. That’s a no-go, folks.

9. My mother-in-law is one of my personal heroes and she doesn’t even know it.

10. I just got an e-mail from Dr. Maya Angelou, another of my personal heroes. She wants me to vote for Obama. Call me, Maya, we’ll chat.

11. I pride myself in not judging others based on outward appearance or differing opinions, but I cannot tell a lie: when a person confuses your and you’re, I cringe.

Christine’s Questions & My Answers:

1. What is your favorite color? GREEN in the fall and winter, YELLOW in the spring and summer.
2. What made you decide to start blogging? I had kids and kinda lost sight of myself after a while. I wanted to see if I could still function independently from my beautiful babies. Plus, I could sit down and write, which was a perfect change of pace from chasing around crazy kids.
3. If you were forced to loose one of your five senses: Taste, Touch, Sight, Hearing, Smelling, which would you choose and why? This isn’t even debatable: taste. I would HAVE to lose weight if I couldn’t taste chocolate and wine, right?!
4. Do you have a bad habit? What is it? I leave clean laundry, unfolded, chillin’ in the baskets for DAYS. My poor husband runs out of socks and boxers a lot.
5. When was the last time you laughed? What were you laughing at? This morning. My son is potty training which means I force him to walk around pants-less, and his little sister constantly points at his dinger and laughs her head off. Hil-arious.
6. If you had to relive a period of time in your life, what would you relive? Probably the first few years I taught at Valley High School. I just loved the people I worked with and for (including the students) so much. 
7. Do you have a hidden talent? What is it? I have absolutely no talent whatsoever. Unless you count the impressive organization of my Pinterest boards.
8. What was your favorite subject in school? I’m an English teacher, so…gym.
9. If money was no object, name something you would splurge on for YOURSELF. Oh this is SO fun, Christine! Okay, lemme think…I would remodel something in my house. Probably my kitchen. Wait, that’s kind of like a splurge for the whole family. How about…a shopping spree with no limits. Granted, I would probably come home with toddler socks of all sizes because, seriously, how do we manage to lose or outgrown them every week?!, but if I could literally shop ’til I dropped, I would be in heaven. This was a long answer. Sorry.
10. Cats? Dogs? Both? Neither? I love animals, but (big) dog over cat.
11. You’ve been given a crystal ball: what will you be up to 10 years from now? Mom to 3, wife to 1, English teacher to none because I retired when my blog took off and started paying our bills 🙂
