This is my handsome husband. He does many things well, but he is noted for his uncanny ability to sleep through anything: the local bar scene with bands blaring inches from his face, conversations with his lovely wife…
This picture was taken the week we brought our first baby home in 2009. I learned very quickly that if the hubster was going to lend a hand with the middle-of-the-night feedings, I, not a screaming infant, had to wake him. I remember once gently nudging him, whispering, “The baby is awake,” and he rolled over mumbling, “What baby?”
Well, then.
Aside from calculus, slumber as sweet as this is the most foreign thing in my life.

I’m pretty sure this is exactly what I’m in for as well! My husband is a type I diabetic and his own insulin pump (that is attached to his body!) doesn’t wake him up when it’s vibrating and beeping in the middle of the night. I have to wake him up to tell him, and most of the time he so sound asleep, he can’t comprehend what I’m saying either.

Thank you! I just read something of yours the other day (about your parents?) and bawled my eyes out. So, thank YOU!

Littlemisswordy, thank you so much! I enjoy writing and if I can make you smile when you read, well that’s just dandy 🙂 And, if I’m remembering correctly, I just read something of yours about your parents meeting and I’m pretty sure I bawled my eyes out. Very touching!
