I’m a fan of 1999; it’s the year I graduated high school, headed off to college, and had abs. Ahhh, the good ole’ days. Since I now teach high school, have been working on my Masters since 2006, and my abs have gone flabs, I figure it’s about time to celebrate something new. How about new friends!
Turns out, Christine at More Than Mommies is my neighbor! We first met a few weeks ago when I hosted a little shindig for the women in our neighborhood. Once we realized we both blogged, we quickly began following and supporting one another: blogs, Facebook pages and Twitter–oh, my! I also began stalking going to her for help, as she’s been at this blogging thing a lot longer than I. When she asked me to co-host the More Than Mommy’s Mixer (#MTMmixer), I was surprised (who am I?!) and humbled. And also a little apprehensive, as I fully anticipate screwing something up. Regardless, I think this hop is a great representation of my new friendship with Christine, and what a perfect way for gal pals to share their love of writing and blogging!
Okay, a few of you lovely ladies have asked how to get in on the action, or if having a fur baby makes you a Mommy. To the latter, absolutely! I learned everything I know about children from my two dogs. Except the whole crating the kid when you leave the house thing; you should really take the little ankle-biters with you as to avoid a visit from CYS.
To the former, here are the deets <—- that’s what the young people call “details” these days. I don’t know why they insist on abbreviating everything: adorable = adorb; hilarious = hilar. Anyway…
You’re all officially invited to the par-tay, and to RSVP, all you’ve gotta do is click the button below! Check in with More Than Mommies for links to the other blogs that are participating. You can check back here, too, for additional ramblings from yours truly! I am a Friday co-host with the fab (I can abbreviate, too, young bucks) Meredith from Mom of the Year, which means she and I are taking turns posting something fresh each Friday. That also means we’ll link up with the participating bloggers thereby providing you all with some new reading material and BBFFs (Blogging Best Friends Forever. Keep up.).
I’m looking forward to making new blog buddies–let’s mingle, shall we?!

They’re pretty cool readers, so I don’t think they’ll mind too much! If, as I suspected, I messed something up, please let me know and I’ll repost the code 🙂
