NaBloPoMo Me, Baby

By Stephanie Jankowski 15 Comments

Is it just me or does that sound dirty: NaBloPoMo?

Just me, huh?

I’m taking the plunge, people. I’ve signed on to participate in my very first BlogHer’s writing challenge. This month’s theme, risk, is one that I’m taking seriously. I’m doing all kinds of risky stuff. I didn’t brush my hair before I dropped my kid off at preschool today. And then I got really crazy and bought a new mascara.

SLOW DOWN, right?!

NaBloPoMo March 2013

For those of you who are unfamiliar with NaBloPoMo fun, it just means I’ll be posting something new every day, so you’ll be seeing my name in your inboxes, reader, and wherever else I pop up DAILY. I’m supposed to stick to the theme of risk, but who knows if that’ll happen? You may get sick of me. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Confession: the *real* writer in me feels like she is taking a huge risk. I usually pour over each word for hours before hitting publish. And after I publish, I obsess some more. Not this month. Nope, March is the month where I let it all hang out. And to prove it, I’ve taken off my socks and my bra. I mean business.

Awesome! I did it in January and I loved it, although I didn’t stick to the theme. Watch out, you might get addicted.

I’m so glad you said you didn’t stick to the theme! The only risk/theme-related aspect of my writing today was the fact that I’m timing myself: 15 minutes or less and I’m publishing. Period. That’s a risk in every post, right? So I’m covered for the month…

Go you for taking the plunge! I’ve heard of these kinds of writing challenges and I’ve always been afraid I wouldn’t be able to do it since I slave over my blog posts like you do! I can’t wait to read your posts and see how you like it. Good luck!

I should be more afraid of that threat, but after the winter we’ve had, I say BRING IT! Actually, no, don’t. I’ll write, I promise 🙂 Thanks for the encouragement!

March Madness baby!! I think this is awesome!! I love that you are taking a risk that will have great results! you are a wonderful writer already so practicing your craft every day is going to make you even better. Personally I am thrilled to know I will have you in my inbox (talk about sounding dirty) each and every day. I may even brush my hair before I open the emails!

You always make me feel like a superhero, Vicky. I like that about you 😉 I’ll definitely pass on any feedback I get. One of my readers/blogging pals did it in the month of February and only had great things to say about her experience. Here’s hoping the same is true for me!

I’m going to fasten my seat belt and come along for the ride. I may not always be able to leave a comment, but please know that I’m reading your posts without my bra daily. Stephanie, you are one of three bloggers who actually cause me to laugh out loud!

Awwww–THANK YOU Anka! That means a lot coming from someone whose writing I truly admire and enjoy reading. Lord knows there are some bloggers that should just press delete instead of publish. 😉

Let it all hang out, sister! I am a freak before I publish, too, so I get the anxiety. But YOU GOT THIS! I won’t tire – risk and post away!
