Welcome to My Little World

By Stephanie Jankowski 3 Comments

“Why a blog, Stephanie?”

Those were my husband’s words a few months ago when I told him I was toying around with the idea of going public with my random thoughts. It frightened him. A lot. And while I can appreciate that, he clearly does not understand that crazy loves company. Plus, I can’t sing like Beyonce, so this is as close as I’m going to get to sharing my voice with the world.

I have two children, one husband (with a lot of opinions), two dogs, and one (paying) job that allows me to work from home. I love, love, love it, but I also miss adult conversation and intellectual stimulation. Repeating the days of the week with my son 23098423424 times a day or teaching my 8 month-old daughter to wave doesn’t quite fit the bill as “intellectual.” That said, I need this blog. I. NEED. IT.

I also need to thank Tina Fey, one of my personal heroes, for being wicked smart, so friggin’ hilarious, and always lookin’ out for us girls.  Had I never read her book, Bossy Pants, I don’t think I would have had the balls or inspiration to start this here blog. Plus, I was prone to laughing until I peed a little when I watched the Tina and Amy Poehler SNL Weekend Update “REALLY?!” skit.

So, without further ado, I kindly ask that you subscribe to, comment on, fall in love with (take your pick) my ramblings. You don’t have to be a parent, or even a woman, to join this club. Unlike those A-holes who invented golf, I’m an equal opportunity kinda gal. Unless, of course, you’re a closed-minded, super conservative, racist, sexist, ageist, homophobic, anti-girl-power kinda person; you should move on. Uh oh. I bet I just offended someone. Check back in a few days to see if I care.
